Introducing Validation Badges

In health IT, there are opportunities to buy “Best of . . .” badges from pay-to-play firms, and there are badges for a one-time “certification” assessment. One can also “self-attest” to join a network.

AEGIS offers something a little different: A way for organizations to demonstrate their FHIR conformance with a Touchstone Validation Badge.

Health IT vendors want to showcase the highest level of quality and conformance of their products, and health IT buyers want to be confident they are investing in products that are of the highest level of quality and conformance. This is why the pro move for HL7® FHIR® implementers is a badge which proves that your implementation follows the FHIR standards and implementation guidelines to achieve interoperability.

As one of the foremost FHIR validation experts, AEGIS is often the first implementer of many draft FHIR IGs. Our Touchstone FHIR TestScript Conformance Validation Suites are built using this unique insight, and they serve as a trustworthy measurement of IG implementation conformance.

AEGIS Touchstone uses these Conformance Validation Suites to objectively measure your FHIR implementation coverage and conformance, enabling us to empower you with objective proof of your system’s FHIR conformance.

A Touchstone Subscription Benefit

Touchstone Validation Badges for an initial set of FHIR IGs are now available at no cost to Touchstone subscribers at the Basic or higher subscription level. Here are examples of that initial set:

The AEGIS team will be adding additional IGs to the Validation Badges collection in the coming months.

In this initial release, your Validation Badge will reflect the last time you executed and published your conformance suite results. In later releases, we will add badges for multi-IG workflows, and we will introduce badges that reflect proactive validation of your continuous conformance to the FHIR IG or workflow evaluated by the Conformance Validation Suite. (More on this as we get closer.)

We are pretty excited about this, and we look forward to working with our Touchstone subscribers to celebrate their FHIR implementation excellence.
