Touchstone Consulting Group Provides Pro Bono Meeting Support For World Vision International
Consulting Firm Facilitates Humanitarian Relief Organization’s Global Preposition Resources Network Team Meeting in Italy
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Touchstone Consulting Group (Touchstone) provided two days of pro bono facilitation support for World Vision International’s Global Preposition Resources Network (GPRN) annual meeting in Bolsena, Italy on Nov. 12-13, 2009.
Touchstone’s pro bono work for World Vision is part of the consulting firm’s targeted effort to help non-profits become more optimized to address uncertainties in the financial market, donor expectations, and staff training, so that they can empower domestic and international providers.
A humanitarian relief organization, World Vision International provides immediate emergency response, disaster mitigation, and long-term capacity building. In 2008, the organization responded to 75 disasters, assisting an estimated 11 million survivors, refugees and internally displaced people.
GPRN serves as World Vision’s supply chain logistic arm, and is responsible for operating the organization’s operational disaster relief hubs. Designed to provide relief within 72 hours of a disaster, GPRN rapidly directs critical supplies and equipment from warehouses on three continents to disaster sites around the world. Supplies include medical kits, blankets, tents, water filters, and communication equipment. GPRN anticipates issues, addresses challenges of delivering supplies to dangerous areas and sets up initial on-site management.
In Bolsena, Touchstone supported GPRN’s core leadership team and assisted with discussion on GPRN’s organizational structure, current and future processes, costs and diversified funding streams, roles and responsibilities, team dynamics, communication barriers, and change management. In addition to World Vision, Touchstone has performed pro bono work for organizations such as the Capital Area Food Bank, the Coalition for Economic Empowerment, and Accion International.
